A long time ago, when frogs wore shoes and birds had no wings, the Anaconda was a tiny little thing. It looked like a worm, but slithered like a snake. This snake was always being picked on. A short joke here and a short joke there. One anaconda was always picked on and his name was Antonio.

Antonio became used to the jokes and just ignored the other animals. He went on with his daily life even though he was continuously made fun of. At the beginning of every day, Antonio laid out in the sun. One day Antonio fell asleep. While he was sleeping, Antonio was mistaken for a rope. Two animals, a tiger and a lion used him for tug of war. As they pulled, Antonio stretched longer and longer. By the time they had grown tired ofd the game, Antonio had been stretched to five feet. To the surprise of the tiger and the lion Antonio was very happy about his new size.

Antonio hurried back to show off his new size. All of the anacondas in his village wanted to be stretched. Soon, all the animals wered lined up to play tug of war with the other anacondas. The new length of the anaconda was five feet long.

Antonio always wanted to be different from the other animals, so he became unhappy about his size when all the other anacondas were getting stretched also. Antonio decided he had to do something to make himself different. He decided to visit the local witch doctor. He told him he had a special pill that would make him double in size and length. The witch doctor warned him about taking too many pills and sent him on his way.

Antonio began taking a pill every other day. He grew some, but wanted to grow more and faster. He began to take a pill evry day. Using this method, Antonio grew even more, but he still was not satisfied. He began to take three pills a day. Before he realized it, he was thirty feet long.

With Antonios new size, the jokes were getting more frequent. These jokes were meaner than the short jokes. This put Antonio into a deep depression. He left his village to start a new village on his own where no one would no him and he could rule. He could no longer take the teasing. Antonio set up his new village on the Amazon river. Today, the large anacondas live on the Amazon river and rule the forest. All animals are afraid of the mighty anaconda and fear him. That's why the anaconda is so long.
